Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, plan financial performance, and monitor budget execution.
• Conduct plan vs. actual analysis, identify variances, and develop recommendations for corrective actions.
• Participate in financial planning and period-end performance reviews.
• Monitor the accuracy and consistency of accounting and management records.
• Review financial and accounting reports, reconcile data, and ensure the quality of financial information.
• Participate in developing and optimizing financial flows within a geographically distributed group of companies.
• Improve financial processes and interactions between Group entities.
• Participate in the automation of accounting and financial processes, including the implementation and development of 1C solutions.
• Define requirements for accounting system customizations and oversee their implementation together with relevant specialists.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, regulations, and internal instructions.
• Handle accounting and tax-related matters and independently research and interpret applicable regulations.
• Work closely with accounting, finance, legal, and other teams on financial matters.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of a finance team member, including task allocation and prioritization.
• Take ownership of ad hoc financial tasks and participate in new projects as required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance, ideally including experience as a Chief Accountant, Deputy Chief Accountant, Finance Manager, or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and methodology.
• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and methods for checking the accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
• Practical experience with primary accounting documentation, fixed assets, inventory/materials, accounts payable and receivable, banking operations, and reconciliations.
• Experience with budgeting and plan vs. actual analysis.
• Understanding of financial flows and financial control principles.
• Experience working with multiple legal entities is a strong advantage.
• Experience with 1C and understanding of accounting process automation.
• Ability to document financial processes and develop internal policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and tax legislation, with the ability to independently research and interpret regulatory requirements.
• High attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
• Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar issues and find practical solutions.
• Willingness to work with both recurring operational tasks and non-standard financial matters.

Nice to have

• Experience working with international or geographically distributed groups of companies.
• Knowledge of European accounting standards and/or IFRS.
• Experience participating in the implementation or significant customization of 1C.
• Experience with intercompany financial transactions and reconciliations.
• Experience preparing management reporting.
• English language proficiency.

Knowledge of European accounting standards is not mandatory if you have a strong background in Russian accounting standards and are willing to learn and adapt to new requirements.
