Platform Administrator

Platform Administrator will be responsible for the end-to-end technical operation of the Alaris messaging platform. This includes maintaining system stability in production, optimizing SMS routing, managing SMPP connections, and ensuring high delivery quality. You will monitor delivery metrics and logs, diagnose incidents, and support SLA adherence. The role also includes price management within the platform — updating, validating, and optimizing client and vendor rates, as well as maintaining accurate pricing data in coordination with commercial teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintenance of the Alaris platform in a production environment: monitoring system availability, stability, and performance.
  • Configuration and optimization of SMS traffic routes: creating routing rules, filters, fallback routes, prioritizations, and exceptions.
  • Management of SMPP connections: setup, testing, monitoring bind statuses, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Monitoring message delivery and technical parameters: analyzing DLRs, message statuses, latency, and routing errors.
  • Diagnosing and resolving incidents related to SMS traffic, connectivity, and routing logic.
  • Working with logs and reports: investigating SMS sending and delivery deviations, analyzing SMPP logs and Alaris system logs.
  • SLA control for SMS availability and delivery performance; providing technical support in case of deviations.
  • Price management within the platform — updating, validating, and optimizing client and vendor rates to ensure accurate billing and cost efficiency.
  • Regular maintenance of pricing data: applying rate changes, monitoring rate discrepancies, and coordinating updates with commercial and vendor teams.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with Alaris Labs (or other SMS traffic routing and billing platforms such as Telarix, Anam, Telesign, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the SMPP protocol and SMS message exchange principles between operators, providers, and clients.
  • Understanding of A2P and P2P SMS workflows, including routing, prioritization rules, filtering, and fallback.
  • Experience in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining SMS connections (SMPP binds), routing rules, and filters within the Alaris platform.
  • Experience in analyzing message delivery and processing logs (SMPP logs, delivery reports, reject reasons, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SMS billing and rating principles, understanding of settlement models and roaming agreements.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with PostgreSQL: executing SQL queries, analyzing data and logs.
  • Skills in monitoring and alerting systems (Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
  • Experience in configuring content filtering and anti-spam protection rules.
  • Task automation skills using Bash, Python, or another scripting language.
